1. Tsomgo Lake
Tsomgo lake is spread in approx. 1km of area and is believed to be the source of other lakes of Sikkim. The lake is at an altitude of 12,313ft. Spring being the best season to be here, makes it tourists get attracted by presence of migratory birds and multiple flowers blooming around the lake. The lake has oval shape. Guru Purnima is the regarded as the best time to visit lake for some holy benefits. Lake is covered by forests and provides yak and mules rides to its tourists.
2. Menmecho Lake
Menmecho lake is situated among the mountains covered with snow throughout the winters. The lake holds a large fishing activity and is source of Rangpo-chu River. Trekking is the way to reach to Menmecho lake as it is surrounded by mountains from all the sides no vehicle can go there. It is famous for its trout population.
3. Khecheopalri Lake
Khecheopalri lake is believed to be a wish fulling lake by the residents. Khecheopalri Lake is located at an altitude of 38,000ft. the lake is known for its religious beliefs. A way is made for people to offer their worship in the lake. Presence of huge number of tourists have made it a topic of concern for the government.
4. Karthok Lake
Karthok lake is a small lake situate din the west of Sikkim. The crystal-clear water of lake attracts major number of tourists visiting Sikkim. The lake is covered by dense forests making it a pleasure sightseeing place. Local residents organize a party to thank God for the prosperity.
5. Samiti Lake
Samiti lake is situated at the height of 15,700ft. Covered by two different mountains on parallel sides makes the lake more appealing. It is a glacial lake toward the Gochala pass. On sunny days, the water reflects the images of mountains and the view is breath-taking.
